RadarStudio / Privacy

RadarStudio collects nothing about you. There is no RadarStudio account, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind. Nothing you do in the app is sent to Squared Studio LLC, and we have no servers that could receive it.
The app downloads weather data from public services, and everything below explains exactly what those requests contain. None of it changes that summary.
All of it stays on your Mac, in the app's own sandboxed storage or in the system Keychain. None of it is backed up to us or synced by us.
Your current location is not on that list. RadarStudio holds it in memory to centre the map and forgets it when you clear it or quit.
Deleting RadarStudio removes everything it stored. Nothing survives the app.
RadarStudio makes three kinds of network request. All are made directly from your Mac to the service named, over HTTPS. None pass through us.
1. Weather data from public services. Radar scans, satellite imagery, warnings, outlooks, model data and observations are downloaded from the agencies that publish them: NOAA and the National Weather Service and its centres, NOAA's open data on Amazon Web Services, Iowa State University's Iowa Environmental Mesonet, Environment and Climate Change Canada, Germany's Deutscher Wetterdienst, Italy's Civil Protection Department, the Japan Meteorological Agency, Taiwan's Central Weather Administration, EUMETSAT, and the European open-data hosts that carry EUMETSAT and EUMETNET data. A request names what it is fetching: a radar site, a product, a time, or the area of the map you're viewing. It carries no account and nothing that identifies you or your Mac. Requests to the National Weather Service include a short app identifier, as the Weather Service asks every app to do. Each service's own privacy policy governs what it logs.
2. Forecasts for your saved pins. For each pin inside the United States, RadarStudio sends the pin's coordinates to the National Weather Service to get the forecast for that spot, and refreshes it about every half hour while the app is open. Save no pins and this never happens.
3. EUMETSAT, only if you set up Meteosat. Your Consumer Key and Consumer Secret are sent to EUMETSAT, the service that issued them, to sign in and download Meteosat imagery. EUMETSAT's privacy policy governs your account with them. Skip Meteosat and this never happens.
The map itself, with its coastlines, borders, roads and city names, is built into the app, so panning and zooming around it sends nothing.
Nothing else is transmitted. There is no fourth kind of request.
RadarStudio asks for your location only when you click My Location, and macOS asks your permission first. It requests a single position, uses it to centre the map and mark where you are, and does not save it or send it to anyone, including us. Say no, and everything else works exactly the same.
RadarStudio opens and saves only the files you choose in an Open or Save dialog: a radar file you want to view, a color palette to import, or a video you export. It has no access to anything else on your Mac.
RadarStudio is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone, children included.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new date at the top. RadarStudio's behaviour is described above as it is today; should a future version ever collect anything, that will be stated here and in the App Store privacy label before the version ships.
